Introduction. Welcome to Hiurd, LLC ("Hiurd," "we," "our," or "us"). Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal information when you use the Hiurd mobile application (the "App") and our website (the "Site").
Hiurd operates a marketplace platform that facilitates connections between Job Creators and Service Providers. Payments on the Hiurd platform are processed through PayVault, Hiurd’s branded payment protection and transaction workflow, powered by Stripe. Hiurd does not hold or control user funds. All payments are processed, held, and disbursed by Stripe in accordance with Stripe’s Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
By using Hiurd’s services, you acknowledge that you have read and understand this Privacy Policy and consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of your information as described herein.

Information We Collect. We collect only the information necessary to operate the platform, provide services, and comply with legal obligations.
We collect the following types of information:-
Information You Provide Directly
This information is collected solely for identity verification, regulatory compliance, and payment processing purposes.- Legal name, address, telephone number(s), and email address
- Screen name, password, and payment method
- Business name, Social Security Number (SSN), Employer Identification Number (EIN), and driver’s license number (for service providers)
- Any additional information necessary to verify your identity, operate the platform, and enable payment processing through third-party providers

We automatically collect:- Device type, browser type, and IP address
- Browsing behavior and referring URLs
- Unique device identifiers (IMEI, UDID, MAC address, IDFA)
- Cookies and tracking data to improve our services

Identity Verification & Background Checks
By using Hiurd, you consent to identity verification (KYC) checks conducted by Authenticate, a third-party verification provider.
For Service Providers in certain categories, we may collect and process criminal background check data through Authenticate. These categories include, but are not limited to: child & elderly care (babysitting, senior assistance, special needs care), lessons Involving Minors (tutoring, sports coaching, music/dance instruction, swimming lessons, language instruction), wellness services (therapists, marriage counselors, massage therapists, physical therapists, fitness trainers). These checks help maintain a safe marketplace and ensure compliance with Hiurd’s policies. Certain service providers on the platform may be subject to additional legal or regulatory requirements, including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), depending on the nature of the services they provide.Such providers are solely responsible for determining and complying with any applicable laws or regulations related to their services. Hiurd does not collect, store, or process protected health information (PHI) on behalf of service providers and is not a covered entity or business associate under HIPAA.
Hiurd does not store raw background check data; Authenticate processes and determines eligibility.
Background checks are limited in scope and may not reflect all past activity. Hiurd does not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of background check results.

Location Information
If you use location-based features, we may collect and store your location data. You can disable location tracking through your device settings, but this may impact your ability to use certain features. -
To enable certain features of the Hiurd App, we may request access to your device’s camera, photo library, microphone, and location. For example, you may choose to upload job photos or videos, verify your identity, or use voice communication features. You can manage these permissions in your device settings. Disabling them may limit functionality within the App.

How We Use Your Information.
We do not use sensitive personal information, such as Social Security numbers or identity verification data, for advertising, profiling, or marketing purposes.

How We Share Your Information.

Legal Compliance & Safety
We may disclose your data:

Third Party Service Providers
Hiurd uses third-party service providers, including Stripe for payment processing and Authenticate for identity verification and background check services. These providers operate under their own terms and privacy policies, and Hiurd is not responsible for their independent data handling practices.
Data Controller and Third-Party Processing
Hiurd acts as the data controller for personal information collected through the platform. This means we determine how and why your personal information is used.
We use third-party service providers, such as Stripe for payment processing and Authenticate for identity verification, to support our services. These providers may process personal information on our behalf or act as independent data controllers under their own terms and privacy policies.

Data Retention Policy; Account Deletion. Hiurd retains personal information only for as long as necessary to operate the platform, provide services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and maintain platform integrity and security. Users may request deletion of their account at any time through the Hiurd App; however, account deletion will only proceed once Hiurd confirms that the user has no active or pending obligations on the platform. Such obligations include, without limitation, active or in-progress service agreements, open job postings or bids, unresolved disputes, Stripe-held pending payments, pending payouts, or any other operational or financial responsibilities. If any such conditions exist, the user will be notified that their account cannot be deleted until all outstanding matters are resolved.
Once account deletion is permitted and the user confirms the request, Hiurd will immediately disable the account, revoke access to the platform, and begin the process of deleting or anonymizing personally identifiable information where legally permissible. This process is typically completed within seven (7) days. Deleted information includes profile details, contact information, authentication identifiers, and other account-specific data used solely for platform operation. Account deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed.
Notwithstanding the foregoing, certain categories of information must be retained for a limited period as required by applicable law or industry best practices, including identity verification status and account history; financial and transaction records such as job payments, payment transaction activity, payout reports, and dispute documentation; information relevant to fraud prevention, abuse investigations, or law enforcement inquiries; audit logs, messaging metadata, and non-content usage activity necessary to ensure platform security and compliance. Such retained information will not be used to recreate or maintain an active user profile and will not be used for marketing or promotional purposes. After the applicable retention period expires, Hiurd will securely delete or irreversibly anonymize all remaining data in accordance with legal and industry-standard requirements.
Third-party providers such as Stripe and Authenticate may retain personal information in accordance with their own legal and regulatory obligations and retention policies.

Security Measures. Hiurd uses reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your personal information. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Governing Law. This Privacy Policy shall be governed by and construed under the laws of the State of Utah, without regard to its conflict of law principles. To the extent a dispute relating to this Privacy Policy is subject to the dispute resolution provisions of Hiurd’s End User License Agreement, those provisions shall control. Any court proceedings permitted under applicable law or the End User License Agreement shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Utah, and users consent to the jurisdiction and venue of such courts.

Your Rights & Choices
You have the right to:- Access & update your information through your Hiurd account.
- Opt-out of marketing communications by adjusting your account preferences
- Request deletion of your account and data by contacting support
- Control cookies and tracking via your browser settings
Depending on your location, you may also have additional rights under data privacy laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) or the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Hiurd will honor such rights in accordance with applicable law.

California Privacy Rights. If you are a California resident, you have certain rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA). These rights may include:
- The right to know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, and share
- The right to request deletion of your personal information
- The right to correct inaccurate personal information
- The right to limit the use and disclosure of sensitive personal information
- The right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information
Hiurd does not sell or share your personal information for monetary or cross-context behavioral advertising purposes. To exercise your rights, you may contact us at hi@hiurd.com or through the Hiurd App. We may need to verify your identity before processing your request.

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information. Hiurd does not sell or share personal information as defined under California law.

Children’s Privacy. Hiurd is not intended for individuals under the age of 18, and users must be at least 18 years old to create an account. We do not knowingly collect personal data from users under 18 years old. If we learn that a person under 18 has created an account or provided personal information without proper authorization, we will delete the information promptly and terminate the account.

Third-Party Links & Social Media. Our App and Site may contain links to third-party websites or social media features. These third parties operate independently and maintain their own privacy and security practices.

Third-Party Payment Processing. Payments on the Hiurd platform are processed by Stripe, Inc., a third-party payment processor. Stripe is responsible for payment processing, fund holding, transaction monitoring, and regulatory compliance obligations applicable to payment services, including anti-money laundering and fraud prevention measures.
Hiurd does not act as an escrow agent, money transmitter, or financial institution and does not hold or control user funds. Hiurd’s role is limited to facilitating platform workflows and providing payment instructions to Stripe based on job status or dispute outcomes. Users agree to Stripe’s Terms of Service and Privacy Policy as a condition of using the platform. Users may review Stripe’s Terms of Service and Privacy Policy on Stripe’s website for additional information.

Updates to This Privacy Policy. We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes by posting an updated version on our website and App at least 30 days before the changes take effect, and by sending an email notification to the email address associated with your account and push notifications if allowed. Your continued use of Hiurd after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
